The Norwegian Psychiatric Association Annual Congress

Psykiatriveka is the Annual Congress of The Norwegian Psychiatric Association (Norsk Psykiatrisk Forening, NPF).

The Annual Congress is the foremost meeting arena of Norwegian psychiatrists dedicated to promoting psychiatry and improving mental health in Norway. It is Norway’s leading platform for the exchange of perspectives, reflections, and collaboration between specialists in the field of psychiatry.

The Annual Congress has become the main venue for the continuous medical education of Norwegian psychiatrist, and an important opportunity for residents in psychiatry to participate in formal as well as informal educational and scientific activities.

The Congress is open to medical doctors only. In accordance with NPF policies, all proceedings are conducted without sponsorship or exhibitions from the pharmaceutical industry.

The program includes plenary sessions, symposia, workshops, and posters as well as educational courses for resident psychiatrists. New and ongoing research findings are presented in a special scientific section of the programme. Every evening offers a social event.

The lecturers and speakers are leading experts in their various fields and topics. The official language of the Congress is Norwegian, while visiting international speakers will hold their lectures in English or a Scandinavian language.

The Congresses ambulate between the five Norwegian university cities; Trondheim, Bergen, Tromsø, Stavanger, and Oslo, and are organized by a central committee in collaboration with local committees.
